 Chiropractic as an Intergral Part of HIV Therapy

 My Expereince at Coastal Chiropractic

I recently visited Coastal Chiropractic on a recommendation from several people.  I was suffering from severe back pain that was so intense over the counter medications would not even help relieve it.  My work requires me to do a lot of lifting and moving around.  Suffering from back pain was making my job much more difficult to do and was a disservice to my clients.  Dr. Mirante made time during his busy schedule to take care of me quickly.  I was so impressed with the professionalism of his office, the clean and welcoming environment and the helpful support staff.

Dr. Mirante used state of the art equipment to analyze the source of my pain.  Far better technology than I have ever seen at prior chiropractors I have been to in the past.  He was able to swiftly diagnose the source of my back trouble and provided relief though a few simple adjustments.

As soon as I left his office I noticed an immediate difference in my pain.  It was GONE!  I had been suffering from back pain for so long due to my curved spine, that I didn't even know what it felt like to be pain free.  My mobility instantly increased and I had one of the most restful night's sleep I have had in months!  The next day I felt no pain sitting in my car or at my desk.  Focusing on my work was much easier because I wasn't focusing on readjusting my position to relieve my hurting back.  My posture was straighter and i felt more grounded and balanced standing and walking.  

I cannot thank Dr. Mirante enough for taking care of me so quickly.  I am looking forward to continue working with him regularly to keep my back healthy, mobile, and pain free.

August Patient of the Month

In March of 2009 I began to experience extreme pain in my hip that radiated down the back of my leg, around my knee and extending into my foot.  It was then I began to realize I needed to consult a doctor to relieve this pain and take care of this condition.  I was diagnosed in March with Sciatica, which is irritation to one or more of the nerve roots that give rise to the sciatic nerve itself causing the pain I had been experiencing.

My Initial treatment for this condition was six weeks of physical therapy and pain medications including Hydrocodone, Cyclobenzapr, Ranitidine, Celebrex, and others.  At this point I was in complete despair and knew it was only time before these medications would have severe side affects on me or possible addiction. My daughter told me she sees a chiropractor on a regular basis to maintain a healthy spine after experiencing back pain and spinal problems.  She says that the chiropractor has helped her become pain free as well as obtain a better posture. I had never been to a chiropractor before however I did not have any doubts and knew I needed to make an extreme life change.

My first impressions of the office and doctor were incredible.  The doctor was very kind and the atmosphere was comfortable and welcoming.  I immediately knew that I had made the right decision.  Within seven weeks of seeing Dr. Mirante I was approximately 95% pain free. I’ve continued my care here are Coastal Chiropractic & Wellness and I am extremely satisfied with my results.  I can sum up my benefits in one phrase, “To feel free of pain with a clear mind and no damage to my liver from meds is PRICELESS!”

My Chiropractic Story

I have suffered from headaches for as long as I can remember.  It always started sometime between the time I got out of bed to early afternoon and it would get progressively worse as the day went on.  It was always right behind my eyes and at my temples.  I can still remember going to the nurse in elementary school complaining about headaches.  (I was a regular in her office.)  It got to the point where my mom would tell me I was in a bad mood and I would giver her a sarcastic NO then he would ask me if I was feeling okay and I would say, “NO. I HAVE A HEADACHE.”  She always said, “Well why didn’t you say you had a headache in the first place.”  To which I would reply, “I always have a headache.  It’s normal.”  On a scale from one to ten on average they were eight or nine.  I had the very occasional day when it was six or seven, but it was also occasionally ten or eleven.  On days when it was eleven I usually stayed home from school and slept.  Everyday of my life used to be like hat except I was numb to the pain.

When I went to the doctor for checkups though elementary school my mom would ask about my headaches, but the doctor didn’t know what to do about it.  My mom decided to try a more holistic approach instead of medication.  When we saw a woman who specialized in this kind of treatment he was convinced that it was all due to allergies.  I am only mildly allergic to mold, yeast, and dog hair.  My headaches did not go away.  Last year my current doctor suggested that I get my eyes checked.  My eyes are normal however, so that was ruled out as a possible cause.  Next, my doctor suggested osteopathic treatment.  That didn’t work either.  So I got an MRI: turns out, my brain is also normal.  As a last resort, I went to see Dr. Mirante.  I started chiropractic in the beginning of June and have not had a headache in a month.  I would recommend chiropractic to anyone now that it has worked for me.

Letter of Success

Dear Dr. Mirante:

It is hard to find the words to describe the changes in my life since meeting you.  I never in a million years dreamed that anything shirt of an operation would ever begin to correct my severe scoliosis.  I have lived with the pain and the curve for many years and I am amazed and thrilled with my progress.

I must say I did try chiropractic care in the past with no success, so when my husband suggested that I join him for one of your seminars so that I might meet you, and decide if I felt comfortable enough to give you a try I said alright I would accompany him but that I didn’t think I would peruse treatment.  Well, I did sit in on the seminar and I did immediately feel comfortable with you, I felt a connection and that you understood that I was scared and somewhat fragile.  So, the very next day I called for my first appointment, that was April, 2009.  After that first appointment, I was encouraged by how you felt you could help me, but I was also apprehensive and scared, but also a little excited at the prospect of at the very least stopping the progression of the scoliosis. 

Today, 6 months later, the difference is amazing!  A full nine degree difference in the curve has been made and I feel this is only the beginning.  So you can see why I feel totally indebted to you.  Your kindness and caring is such a huge part if my success.  Your commitment to my progress is vital to my wellness, mostly because I feel I am not just another patient, I feel you truly care about our journey down this uncharted course.  And most importantly I have total trust in you.  You are a very special person.  So please know how much I think of you ad how much you have done to change my life.
